Signs It May Be Time to Schedule a Chiropractic Evaluation

July 23, 2026

Many people associate chiropractic care with back pain that appears suddenly after lifting something heavy or experiencing an injury. While those situations can certainly prompt someone to seek care, they are not the only reasons to consider scheduling a chiropractic evaluation. Everyday habits, repetitive movements, and changes in mobility can gradually affect how the body functions, sometimes without causing immediate or severe discomfort.

Recognizing these changes early may help you better understand what is contributing to your symptoms and whether conservative care could be an appropriate option.

Persistent Back or Neck Discomfort

Occasional soreness in your neck and back after physical activity is common, but discomfort that lingers for several weeks or repeatedly returns may warrant a professional evaluation. A chiropractor can assess how your spine, joints, and surrounding muscles are functioning to help identify possible contributing factors.

An evaluation does not automatically mean treatment is necessary. Instead, it provides an opportunity to better understand what may be affecting your mobility or comfort and discuss whether chiropractic care or another approach may be appropriate.

Frequent Headaches

Headaches can have many potential causes, including stress, dehydration, certain medical conditions, muscle tension, or issues involving the neck. Because there are many possible explanations, it is important not to assume that one treatment is appropriate for every situation.

If headaches occur frequently or interfere with daily life, a healthcare provider can help determine the underlying cause. In some cases, chiropractic care may be included as part of a broader treatment plan when it is considered appropriate for the individual.

Reduced Flexibility or Range of Motion

If turning your head while driving, bending over to tie your shoes, or reaching overhead has become more difficult than it used to be, reduced mobility may be affecting your daily activities. Stiffness can develop gradually and may become easier to overlook as people adapt to changing movement patterns.

A chiropractic evaluation can include an assessment of joint motion, posture, and movement patterns to help identify areas that may benefit from conservative care or additional evaluation.

Changes in Posture

Many people spend hours each day sitting at a desk, using computers, or looking down at mobile devices. Over time, these habits may contribute to changes in posture that place additional strain on muscles and joints.

If you have noticed increasing stiffness, rounded shoulders, or discomfort after prolonged sitting, an evaluation may help identify habits or movement patterns that could be contributing to those concerns. Recommendations may include ergonomic adjustments, exercises, stretches, or other supportive therapies based on your individual needs.

Recovering from Physical Activity

Whether you enjoy recreational sports, regular exercise, or physically demanding work, your body experiences ongoing stress from movement. Persistent soreness, recurring muscle tightness, or limited mobility after activity may be signs that your body would benefit from further evaluation.

Depending on your circumstances, a personalized treatment plan may incorporate chiropractic care alongside other services such as therapeutic massage, myofascial release, nutritional guidance, or additional therapies offered at the practice.

Taking a Whole-Person Approach

A chiropractic evaluation is not simply about identifying where discomfort occurs. It is also an opportunity to look at how different aspects of your health, lifestyle, movement habits, and daily routines may be influencing the way your body functions.

At Eyrich Natural Health and Healing, Dr. Tom Eyrich and his team develop individualized care plans based on each patient’s unique goals and health history. Rather than applying the same treatment approach to everyone, they consider the whole person when recommending conservative therapies that may support mobility, comfort, and overall wellness.

Knowing When to Take the Next Step

Not every ache or episode of stiffness requires chiropractic care, but persistent discomfort, recurring mobility issues, or changes that begin affecting your daily activities deserve attention. An evaluation can provide valuable information about what may be contributing to your symptoms and help you understand the options available to you.

If you have questions about your musculoskeletal health or are interested in learning whether chiropractic care could be appropriate for your individual situation, contact Eyrich Natural Health and Healing to schedule a consultation. Dr. Tom Eyrich and his experienced team are committed to providing personalized, patient-centered care that supports your long-term health and wellness goals.

Fatigue, low energy, poor concentration, disrupted sleep, and a general feeling of reduced vitality are common complaints. Many people respond by reaching for caffeine, energy drinks, or supplements, but persistent fatigue can have many possible causes. When symptoms begin during or after an infection and continue well beyond the expected recovery period, a post-infectious condition may be worth investigating. The CDC recognizes that some infections can be followed by symptoms lasting weeks, months, or even longer. Fatigue, difficulty concentrating, sleep problems, headaches, muscle discomfort, and worsening symptoms after physical or mental exertion are among the patterns that can occur. What Is Post-Viral Fatigue? Post-viral fatigue describes prolonged fatigue and related symptoms that develop after a viral illness. Researchers are still working to understand why some people recover quickly while others experience lingering symptoms. Several mechanisms are being investigated, including persistent immune activation, inflammation, nervous system changes, altered energy metabolism, and autoimmune responses. It is important to recognize that the cause is not fully understood and may differ significantly from one person to another. COVID-19 has brought increased attention to this issue. Long COVID can include persistent fatigue, cognitive problems, headaches, sleep disturbances, dizziness, palpitations, and symptoms that worsen following exertion.

Today fatigue, tiredness, lethargy, depression and low vitality are very common. Many people take supplements to give them energy or even drink energy beverages. The cause of the fatigue must be diagnosed to correct the problem so energy is recovered. What I have been using in my holistic practice of over 46 hears is an organism screen to determine residual organisms that are hurting the body, especially causing fatigue. One of the hardest organisms to diagnose is a virus but unfortunately a virus can damage organs and tissues leading to an experience of fatigue. Residual viruses can literally take over the machinery of a cell and hide from the immune system so it cannot be eradicated.

Currently, diseases such as heart, cancer, diabetes, auto-immune and many others are on the rise. What has happened to our healthcare system? It is offering crisis care, not healthcare. These diseases are not diagnosed until the patient is in a severe condition. It took years of decline to get in that state and will be difficult to recover and have quality of life. What to do? After 46 years practicing as a holistic doctor, I have coined the word optimization therapy. What this means is virtually no one is totally healthy in every organ system. So, on a scale of one to ten, your liver can be a 5, your heart a 3, your kidney a 6, your lower back a 4, etc. This may be good enough to pass a medical exam but opens you up to becoming pathologic. A far more effective approach is going to a doctor, like me, that is looking for all the weak areas and treating them to improve the health score. If all your organs and glands are scoring high you will not have a stroke, heart attack, develop cancer and become diabetic. What an amazing concept!! Avoid the disease as a goal so the crisis care is never necessary.

Holistic care is becoming a much sought after therapy for patients suffering with many different health care problems. Some of the most common problems are fatigue, weight gain, sleep disturbances, digestive complaints, diabetes, cancer, heart symptoms, all types of structural pain and many more. Holistic treatments take a different approach than western medicine finding the cause of each health concern and applying natural therapies such as chiropractic, acupuncture, herbology, nutritional supplements, diet, detoxification and many other treatments to regain balance. The first step to recovery is often detoxifying the body of chemicals, organisms, heavy metals and food allergies. These cause chronic inflammation in the body which is at the core of many resistant diseases, seldom addressed in western treatment, and a tremendous importance in holistic. Once the toxic factors are eliminated, huge health benefits are achieved! With all of these therapies available, now is the time to reach a new level of health and live the life you deserve. An occasional episode of heartburn after a large or unusually rich meal is common. When the burning sensation keeps returning, however, it deserves more attention. Heartburn is typically felt behind the breastbone and occurs when stomach contents move upward into the esophagus. Frequent symptoms may be associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease, commonly called GERD , or with other digestive and lifestyle factors. At Eyrich Natural Health and Healing, recurring digestive symptoms are considered within the larger picture of how the body is functioning rather than being viewed in isolation. Why Heartburn Happens Between the esophagus and stomach is a muscular structure called the lower esophageal sphincter. It normally helps prevent stomach contents from traveling backward. If that sphincter becomes weak or relaxes when it should not, stomach contents can move into the esophagus and cause the familiar burning sensation associated with acid reflux. Heartburn often becomes more noticeable after eating, while lying down, or when bending over. Some people may also experience an acidic taste, regurgitation, nausea, coughing, or hoarseness.

Cold hands, persistent fatigue, and difficulty concentrating can seem like three unrelated problems. One may be blamed on the weather, another on a busy schedule, and the third on poor sleep. When these symptoms occur repeatedly or appear together, however, they may be worth looking at as part of a broader health picture. Eyrich Natural Health and Healing takes a whole-person approach to persistent symptoms. Dr. Thomas Eyrich, D.C., L.Ac., N.D., considers how different systems may be functioning together while also recognizing the importance of conventional medical evaluation when symptoms could indicate an underlying condition. The Combination Can Have Several Possible Causes There is no single explanation for cold hands, fatigue, and brain fog. For example, hypothyroidism can cause fatigue and difficulty tolerating cold, and some people also experience problems with concentration or thinking. Anemia is another possible consideration. MedlinePlus notes that anemia can cause tiredness and feeling cold, while certain forms may also be associated with difficulty concentrating. Sleep problems, nutritional issues, medication effects, stress, and other medical conditions can also contribute to similar symptoms. That overlap is precisely why persistent symptoms should not be self-diagnosed based on one pattern alone.
