Medical Blood Tests and Holistic Medicine Bioscan

November 28, 2023

As a practicing holistic physician for over 45 years I have recognized important factors effecting a patient's health. When a patient comes to my office, I utilize my experience and training in holistic medicine to find the cause of the health problem and offer a natural corrective treatment free of side effects. What has always concerned me from the time I did my internship to the present is the accuracy of standard blood testing.

When I was training in holistic medicine, every patient received blood exams and urinalysis labs. My observation was most patients showed a perfect blood lab result yet had many symptoms and health complaints. Since then, I have discovered that blood testing only reveals severe, very progressed health conditions. By the time cancer, diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, kidney failure, etc. are diagnosed by labs the problem was there years and years before. The blood has an amazing ability to compensate and hide health conditions until they become severe.

Value

Certainly I read and recommend blood testing and urinalysis, but in my office, I do the Biomeridian bioscan which uncovers organ and glandular problems before they become severe. I also check causative factors to disease which are food allergies, organisms, heavy metals, and chemical poisons. Finally, organs and glands will show weakness far before blood testing can reveal the problem. if you have a health problem and have only done blood testing, I highly recommend doing a bioscan and finding out all the factors that have been missed."

The Five Hidden Factors

A very important idea in my holistic health practice is the cause of disease. I observe so many doctors only treating symptoms and the patients do not recover. The five hidden factors are the cause of illness. When the cause of illness is understood, the recovery is fast and long-lasting. So, the five factors are food allergies, organisms, heavy metals, chemicals, and weak organs or glands.

Food allergies are common and a source of disease. Common food allergies are dairy, corn, gluten, tomatoes, soy, beef, peanuts, eggs, and chocolate. These foods can trigger an immune response that is a component of illness. I use the Bioscan or applied kinesiology to find allergies. This testing method is more accurate than blood tests.

Organisms are a huge factor and usually are undiagnosed by medical doctors. Bacteria, viruses, yeast parasites, Lyme Spirochetes, and others cause disease. Again, blood testing and stool samples are often inconclusive. Eliminating organisms can make a tremendous impact on overcoming illness.

Poisons in the body in the form of heavy metals and chemicals hurt organ function. Especially the liver and kidneys. Detoxification is imperative for each patient to recover from their illness.

Finally, weak organs and glands are a huge health concern. The reason so many patients have undiagnosed organ-gland weakness is the almost total reliance on blood tests. I have found blood testing to only show up positively when the organ gland is in an "extreme" condition. In other words, you pass the blood test until the organ gland is almost gone. I commonly diagnose weak adrenals, thyroid, liver, kidney, heart, pancreas, etc., that blood tests said were fine. Every patient should receive a holistic evaluation to see which organs and glands are weak.

Common illnesses such as fatigue, depression, weight gain or loss, anxiety, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, skin rashes, chronic pain, headaches, teeth disorders, brain fog, and many more have their cause in the five hidden factors.

The Triad of Health

A very important concept in holistic medicine is called the triad of health. This means that a patient’s health is affected by structural factors, chemical factors, and mental-emotional factors.

Structural factors would be spinal bones (vertebrae), extremities, and even cranial bones out of alignment affecting the nerves. For example, a vertebra misaligned in the lower back will cause back pain, radiating pain, and spasms, and also affect nerves going to organs such as the colon, uterus, prostate, and ovaries. Correcting this condition through chiropractic adjustments would be the optimal strategy free of side effects. This is true for the arms, legs, cranium, and jaw. Everyone needs chiropractic!!

Chemical factors include all the nutrients that the body needs to function optimally. Each organ-gland needs nutrients to function. Lack of nutrients means the organs and glands are slowly dying and headed toward disease. There are many great supplements, herbs, and homeopathies available to restore health to the body and mind. I diagnose and prescribe the proper nutrients for each patient. It is amazing to me anyone would think taking drugs is enough to heal the body. I believe this is a mistake and the Western pharmaceutical approach is not enough to restore the health of each patient.

Mental-emotional factors are of prime importance. Thoughts affect our health and must be positive, uplifting, and optimistic. There are many holistic techniques to reprogram the mind and eliminate depression, anxiety, and negative thinking. Negative emotions need to be identified and released. Techniques such as imagery, positive affirmations, and breathing can eliminate emotional chaos. I use Applied Kinesiology to identify organ-emotion relationships and release the emotion-causing disease.

When the triad of health is in balance, the patient experiences radiant health. This is treating the “cause” not suppressing symptoms with drug therapy that has untold side effects.

Hidden Causes of Illness

Food can cause allergic reactions in the body causing all types of pain and digestive dysfunction. Most food allergies are delayed reactions and will not manifest with symptoms for three to five days. Therefore, most people are unaware they have food allergies causing all of their symptoms.

Heavy metals such as mercury, lead cadmium, arsenic, and many more cause many diseases. Some of these are heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and aging.

Chemicals are found in our food, cosmetics, household products, dental procedures, vaccinations, drugs, water, buildings, paint, carpets, and many more. This has deleterious effects on our health. Very hard on the liver and kidneys.

Harmful organisms breed in the body, especially the digestive system. Bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi, yeast, mold, Lyme spirochetes, amoebas, protozoans, and many more cause chronic illness and disease. Many of these organisms are called stealth organisms because they can hide within our cells undetected by the immune system and undetected by lab tests.

Emotions that are unresolved weaken the organs and glands causing disease to set in. Negative emotions and thoughts are a root cause in many unresolved health problems. Dr. Eyrich has developed techniques to uncover and correct these problems.

Feeling tired after a long day or a poor night of sleep is normal. Persistent fatigue is different. When someone regularly wakes up exhausted, struggles to maintain energy throughout the day, or feels unusually depleted despite getting adequate rest, the symptom deserves a closer look. Fatigue is not a diagnosis by itself. It can have many possible causes, including sleep disorders, anemia, thyroid disorders, infections, chronic medical conditions, medications, depression, anxiety, and other factors. At Eyrich Natural Health and Healing, Dr. Thomas Eyrich, D.C., L.Ac., N.D. , approaches persistent symptoms by looking at the person as a whole and considering how different areas of health may be interacting. Fatigue Can Have More Than One Possible Source One reason persistent fatigue can be difficult to understand is that energy depends on numerous processes throughout the body. Sleep quality is an obvious example. A person may spend enough hours in bed yet still experience poor-quality or disrupted sleep. Certain sleep disorders can produce significant daytime fatigue even when someone believes they are sleeping adequately. The thyroid is another area physicians may evaluate because both underactive and overactive thyroid conditions can be associated with fatigue. Anemia, persistent pain, infections, certain medications, and chronic diseases may also contribute. This is why simply telling someone to “get more rest” may not address what is actually happening.

Many people think about their health only after symptoms become severe enough to interfere with daily life. While modern medicine has made remarkable advances in treating serious illnesses, much of today’s healthcare system is designed to respond after a disease has already developed. This approach is invaluable during medical emergencies, but it often leaves little opportunity to identify subtle imbalances before they progress into more significant health concerns. At Eyrich Natural Health and Healing, the focus is on helping patients optimize their health rather than simply reacting to illness. Dr. Tom Eyrich , who has more than 46 years of experience in holistic healthcare, has developed what he refers to as Optimization Healthcare—a philosophy centered on identifying areas of weakness within the body and supporting them with individualized natural therapies before more serious problems develop. Looking Beyond the Absence of Disease Many people assume they are healthy because routine medical examinations and laboratory tests do not reveal a serious medical condition. However, overall wellness is much more complex than simply receiving a normal test result. According to Dr. Eyrich’s holistic philosophy , every organ system functions along a spectrum rather than as either “healthy” or “unhealthy.” One system may be functioning very efficiently, while another may be under increased stress without yet producing a diagnosable disease. The goal of Optimization Healthcare is to identify these weaker areas before they contribute to more significant health challenges. Rather than waiting for the body to reach a crisis point, the emphasis is placed on improving overall function and supporting the body’s natural ability to maintain balance.

Many people seek healthcare because they want relief from symptoms such as fatigue, digestive discomfort, persistent pain, poor sleep, weight management challenges, or other ongoing health concerns. While conventional medicine plays an essential role in diagnosing and treating many conditions, some patients also choose to explore holistic care as part of a comprehensive wellness plan. At Eyrich Natural Health and Healing, we believe that optimal health begins by understanding the whole person—not just a single symptom. Rather than focusing solely on managing discomfort, holistic care seeks to identify and address factors that may be contributing to a patient’s overall well-being. Looking Beyond the Symptoms Every individual is unique, and the causes of similar symptoms can vary from person to person. A holistic evaluation considers multiple aspects of health, including nutrition, lifestyle habits, physical function, stress, environmental influences, and overall wellness. Chiropractic care and acupuncture are two of the cornerstone services offered at Eyrich Natural Health and Healing. Chiropractic treatment focuses on restoring proper spinal alignment and joint function to support mobility and overall wellness, while acupuncture uses the placement of fine needles at specific points to encourage the body’s natural healing processes. Together, these therapies can complement a personalized treatment plan designed to help patients improve function, manage discomfort, and support long-term health. By taking a comprehensive view, practitioners can develop personalized care plans designed to support the body’s natural ability to function at its best.

Many people associate chiropractic care with back pain that appears suddenly after lifting something heavy or experiencing an injury. While those situations can certainly prompt someone to seek care, they are not the only reasons to consider scheduling a chiropractic evaluation. Everyday habits, repetitive movements, and changes in mobility can gradually affect how the body functions, sometimes without causing immediate or severe discomfort. Recognizing these changes early may help you better understand what is contributing to your symptoms and whether conservative care could be an appropriate option. Persistent Back or Neck Discomfort Occasional soreness in your neck and back after physical activity is common, but discomfort that lingers for several weeks or repeatedly returns may warrant a professional evaluation. A chiropractor can assess how your spine, joints, and surrounding muscles are functioning to help identify possible contributing factors. An evaluation does not automatically mean treatment is necessary. Instead, it provides an opportunity to better understand what may be affecting your mobility or comfort and discuss whether chiropractic care or another approach may be appropriate.

Nutrition advice often seems to change from year to year, with new diets and food trends regularly making headlines. While opinions about the “perfect” way to eat may vary, one recommendation has remained remarkably consistent: incorporating more whole foods into your daily meals can support overall health and wellness. Whole foods are foods that are minimally processed and remain close to their natural state. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, lean proteins, and other nutrient-rich foods provide vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other beneficial compounds that help support the body’s normal functions. At Eyrich Natural Health & Healing, we believe that thoughtful nutrition is one important part of a personalized approach to long-term wellness. What Are Whole Foods? Whole foods generally contain few or no added ingredients and undergo minimal processing before reaching your plate. Fresh berries, leafy greens, brown rice, oats, beans, eggs, fish, and plain nuts are all examples of whole foods . These foods naturally contain a combination of nutrients that work together in ways that highly processed products often cannot replicate . That does not mean every processed food should be avoided. Rather, increasing the proportion of whole foods in your diet is a practical goal that may help support overall health.

When people seek healthcare , they are often looking for relief from a specific symptom, whether it is discomfort, fatigue, digestive concerns, headaches, or another health challenge. Addressing those symptoms is certainly an important part of care, but many people are also interested in understanding why they developed in the first place. That interest has contributed to the growing popularity of holistic healthcare. Rather than focusing solely on a single symptom or isolated concern, holistic healthcare takes a broader view by considering how different aspects of a person’s health and lifestyle may be connected. The goal is to better understand the whole individual and develop a personalized plan that supports long-term wellness.
